Our club was started so that die-hard surfers could have the chance to give back to our community and to bring a new, younger group of surfer's through. The club has been going since 1993 - we celebrate our 20 year anniversary in 2023!

Opunake Beach is one of the safest in NZ, and over the summer months, Opunake Surf Life Saving club is on patrol. 

We generally have around 70 people enrolled in surf school, but numbers have grown lately with our very popular Surfing for Farmers after work school. 

The club is run by a group of passionate volunteers and without them, and without the ongoing support from our sponsors, our club wouldn't be the place it is today. 

Surfing is a sport that teaches confidence in the water and keeps your mind and body healthy. Anyone in the family can take part, if you turn up we'll teach you!
